More Graduation Gifts!! While at the Dollar store earlier this week I found these plain mini clipboards. I bought a couple of them so I could decorate them and add them to the gifts for my niece and cousin for their graduations. While Pinterest this week I searched for ideas on how to decorate the clipboards and came across this blog: Marta Writes. I scrounged up some scrapbook paper and printed out 2 pictures: 1 a collage of Paris and girly things, and 1 of a Graduation Subway Art.
For the second clipboard I used 2 pieces of hot pink cardstock and modpodged it onto the each side of the clipboard. I cut out the scroll pattern from Green cardstock and modpodged it on top of the pink!
Just like my Previous Earring Holder gift idea that you can check out here this is an earring holder I am making for my cousin for her High School Graduation! I am trying to twist hooks into the bottom of the frame but so far I’ve only been able to get one in…Does anyone have any tips on how to make it easier to get these hooks in? I painted the wooden frames a fuchsia color and hot glued the costume jewelry onto the front. It gives it a very classy posh look…I want to keep it it is so cute… but I don’t have enough earrings for it! I will post pictures of the finished products since I have one more to fix for my niece. This is really easy and cheap to make too… I bought the frame at a garage sale for $0.50, the jewelry and mesh screen came from my grandmother’s house so it was free…the most expensive part of this project was the can of spray paint..which was about $4 at walmart!
Here is the other Earring Holder I am making for my niece for her graduation gift:
It is the same color as the one above but I just took the picture with a different camera…
I’m so happy as to how these turned out! I would love to keep them for myself!
I’m thinking of maybe starting a little side business and selling my earring holders…I’ve bout a bunch of different sized wooden frames and I am going to sand, paint, and decorate them. here is one set I’ve finished this week..I’m working two more right now for my step-niece and step-cousin’s graduation gifts!
So here is a follow up on the previous post…I’m just now getting time to post the finished project pictures!!! Since it is finally Graduation day for me!!
I’m taking my last English class this semester. In this class we either have to create some kind of project or write a 10 page paper relating to one or more of the novels read during the semester. The books we read are: The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dracula, The Time Machine, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, and The Turn of the Screw. Being the crafty creative person that I am I decided to create a Journal from the viewpoint of a private investigator investigating the mysteries from The Picture of Dorian Gray. I typed up journal entries, newspaper clippings, “mock” interviews. Then I started on creating the cover for the journal. This is what I have so far:
I measured out the amount of material I needed and then cut the corners.
I cut a piece of cardboard from clothes gift box and then cut it in half.
I glued (with hot glue) the two pieces of cardboard to the material.
Fold and glue all sides down to the cardboard pieces
Semi-finished product! Just waiting to print out my pages and I’m good to go!
I will update later with the finished product!
Spring 2012 has arrived and with it comes beautiful flowers everywhere. These are all flowers from my Grandmother’s yard!
Hope everyone has had a blessed Easter this year! I know I have!
